First Days of Spring

I wish I was writing about the beautiful weather, spring fever, grass peaking through on the lawn, the garden I am planning. Sadly, I am not! It seems like spring is taking forever to come a calling! By now I would normally be pulling out my capri pants, washing them and making sure I have a new top to go with them. I would be planning the garden, making a list of the new foliage and flowers I want to experiment with... you get the picture right? I think we are all feeling the same way.

I did take some time today to think of Mother's Day and Easter, and this is what I came up with.

The other day I was inspired to work with purple and blue for Mother's Day!

Today though, it was green, and my new favorite from Stampin Up, crumb cake.

I also have a sale that is close to Easter, so I thought I would try making some of these cute little kids Easter treat boxes. I did some in yellow, later in the week I will try a different color. This was more of a practice run, and a good way to use some of my leftover spring Creative Memories paper! I love finding ways to use my scrap paper!

Since the sun was not shining, and we are all a little dreary around here, Haley and I went and bought rain boots so that we can at least go for a walk. The only color left in my size was red! I normally do not wear anything red, but I thought for rain boots, they would be fun!

So we are ready to take the dog for a walk tomorrow after an early end to the school day (and before tutor), yikes, I forgot to remind her! We are hoping for sunshine, and no ice to slip on, because we are both very good at randomly falling!

So I know they are not the most fashionable of rain boots, but what do you think! Bring on the puddles!

Have a great week everyone!

Lemon Ricotta Muffins

Ok, yes so I do have a thing for lemon, and I am so dreaming of springtime! More like wishful thinking.

The recipe is a must try, next time you go shopping, pick up a lemon and some ricotta cheese!

Lemon Ricotta Muffins

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup plus 2 tsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/3 cup milk
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 large eggs
2 tsp freshly grated lemon peel

1. Preheat oven to 400 F, and grease a 12 muffin, muffin pan.

2. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta, milk, eggs, melted butter and ricotta. Stir until just moistened.

4. Spoon batter into muffin pan. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar over the muffins.

5. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

Enjoy

My Craft Room

Hello!

First I want to tell you how excited I am that I finally figured out how to add an option to my blog, that allows followers to receive my updates by e mail! I hope you will sign up for it, I would appreciate it very much!

On the weekend, my craft area was a MESS! My brother gave me a few shelves and such, that I thought I would use, and when I get something like that, I tear the place apart. No lie. My husband thought it would take me forever to get it looking normal. I knew it wouldn't take too long. It couldn't take me too long, because I have a Friday night scrap booking class with the Crafty Ladies! Yes I named their group!

Anyway, I just wanted to share my scrap booking and craft area with you! It is where I hold my workshops as well as my work area for my Cards by Tannis and my own personal scrap booking. And let me tell you, when I don't have a class going on, I use all the tables! Or when I am preparing for an upcoming sale. It can get really messy!

I move these tables often, depending on how many crafters I have

This is some of my on hand Creative Memories product

This is my sale table of some Creative Memories product I am hoping will sell soon, so let me know if you are interested in anything you see here!

And this table is some of the new product. There are so many new things this March, it is unbelievable. There are many baby albums and quick kits, lots of new paper and these two beautiful albums!

This is another work area that I try to stick to when working on my Cards by Tannis products. I have so much stuff in this area, both completed and working on, that sometimes I get overwhelmed where I should start!

Dave made this area for me, a place to hang my stickers and ribbon!

I love my Stampin up Big Shot!

Well thanks for taking a peak of my scrap booking and crafting area! Have a good week, and oh, I almost forgot to tell you........
